Excursion Tip La Palma: Glassblowing "Artefuego

In Argual, is the glassblowing/glass workshop Artefuego (in the middle of a banana plantation in Plaza de Sotomayór, behind Casa Massieu), where the master glassblowers Dominic Kessler and Wladyslaw Gozdz produce mouth-blown works of art such as vases, decorative glasses, lanterns, and lamps. Both are united by an artistic love of glass, which is playfully combined with volcanic elements. For example, volcanic stone fuses in the lead crystal objects to create wonderful handicrafts full of colorful splendor.

Glass Blowing you can Watch

The process of glass blowing with the special glass blowing whistle can be watched by registered visitors. The artists do not use prefabricated forms for this, but create their works of art freely and creatively as a kind of "colored light music". If one realizes that Dominic Kessler is also a trombonist, the resulting works of art can also be understood as a rhythm that has become glass. In any case, they are unique pieces - and an original souvenir of the inspiring surroundings of La Palma!
